I love furry animals. I do...I really really do. I would gladly swerve then to smash a fuzzy animal. I have been known to chase away hawks that have squirrels cornered.
I have a problem...we have heard mice running around in our attic. I mean these aren't just cute little mice either by the noise that they make these are monster sized mice. The likes that could only grow in Texas. We have been sitting watching TV and heard them drag across the ceiling what can only be described as a chunk of cheese that weighs no less then 100 lbs. Not to mention the noise that they make when the mommy mice do aerobics...It even scares our cats. Knowing the great amount of damage that can be done I grew very concerned. We have electrical as well as gas lines that run through our attic...can you say home go boom!
So I made a trip to our local Lowes to find a solution to my problem. Thinking maybe there was a "nice" way to end this I was told what the stages of an infestation would be and decided the little suckers must die. So short of setting up a deer stand in my rafters and waiting with a 22 to plug the suckers I bought what was explained to me as a "mouse friendly" poison. That they go to sleep and just don't wake up and the best part is that it does something to them so they wont smell up the place. After buying a large supply, enough to ride the world of mice, I stood below the attic drop certain that when I pulled the stairs down a scene from the movie Ratatouille would come to life. You know where the little old lady shots the ceiling and it falls in with MILLIONS of rats!! I finally got enough courage up and dropped the stairs and climbed into the cold attic. I carefully walked on beams and placed all of the "treats" around for the mice careful not to fall through the ceiling. I was told it would take no more then 2 weeks to clear the problem. That if we still heard noise that it could be something else....excuse me??? Something else??? Now here I sit...as a Mouse In the Kitchen... listening to the mice run around wondering if they have eaten the poison Not wanting to kill fuzzy animals but knowing it's only a matter of time before they chew on something they shouldn't...not to mention the thought of mice poo in my attic...GROSS.
If you new here I would love for you to look around..and if you find yourself laughing click the follow on the top right screen and don't forget to send me a hello...I would LOVE to have you stay!

I've been know to let go a trapped mouse or two in my days just for them to return. They are tricky little things! I hope that it's mice and not 'something else'!
ReplyDeleteAll i can say is EWWWWWW!
ReplyDeleteI am one of those weirdos that has had mice and rats as pets... that being said, yeah... you gotta kill 'em or they will take over! They aren't as sweet as domesticated fancy mice and as much as we hate to hurt furry creatures, they carry yuck with them!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
