I am so thrilled to have Desiree from Macke Monologues taking over on my blog today. I absolutely love her and she is my source of inspiration for running. There are so many times when I am out on a hard run when my body says stop I think of Desiree and how she is such a dedicated runner and I am able to push myself some more. I am so honored to have her on my blog today...and I am sure you will love her as much as I do!
Hello Mice in the Kitchen friends! I'm Desiree from over at Macke Monologues. I have to give a big 'Thank you!' to Laura for allowing me to take over her piece of the Internet, today. Each day I look forward to reading Laura's post. Between her charismatic writing style and her parenting tips that I have stashed away for future use, her posts always brighten my day. I hope you'll find my little slice of life brings a smile to your face, too.
There's a dilemma I've been wrestling for awhile, 19 months to be exact. You see, 19 months is how old my little man, Marcus is. Since his arrival into this world I've worried about potty training.
The actual potty training itself doesn't scare me. Does it seem like a bit of a daunting task? Maybe. Will there be episodes of "missed aim?" Certainly. Accidental leaks and wet pants? I fully expect that to happen, more than a few times. But, those are things I am ready and willing to tackle.
My problem is the "P" word. I don't mind saying potty, and "pee pee," or what have you. Those words are any issue for me. It's that OTHER "P" word that I simply cannot say.
I did a quick Google search on the "grossest sounding words."
Here are a few that made the list:
Those words aren't necessarily pretty, but I'll use them if need be. But, that "P" word that refers to solid bodily excretions? I.can't.say.it. That word literally makes my skin crawl.
What AM I going to say when Marcus starts learning the tricks of the trade to using the big boy potty? What word WILL I use to help both him and me along this new little adventure that is starting to knock on our door?
Please, help - I'm open to any and all creative solutions!!
I'd love for you to stop by Macke Monologues and follow along on life's adventure!
