Ozeri Green Earth Frying Pan + Giveaway

Cooking for my family allows me to make sure that they are eating the right food and staying away from the foods that can cause problems with growing kids. What do you do when you are cooking the right foods but the non-stick cookware you are using is adding bad things to your food? Things such as PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) and PFOA (Perfluorooctanoic Acid)?  The Green Earth Pan by Ozeri is a non-stick pan that remains PTFE and PFOA free while being able to cook at high temperatures.

When Ozeri offered to send me one of these pans for the purpose of writing a review, I was very excited to try one out. The first thing I noticed about the pan was its textured surface, which is different from the other frying pans that I own.

Before cooking with my Green Earth Pan I cleaned the pan with a soft sponge and preconditioned the inside with a little oil (I used Olive Oil) before using it, as directed. I decided a good test for the pans non-stick ability without using extra oils or butter was to brown some chicken for chicken enchiladas that we were going to have later that night.  The instructions said that during the cooking process if any food gets stuck to use a little bit of water and as the water  turns to steam it will release the food from the pan.  I did not run into that problem during while cooking the chicken. Overall, the pan cooked fast and no food stuck even as I took out the chicken to begin shredding it and returning small chunks in for further cooking.

Overall opinion:
As to date of writing this review I have used the pan 3 times.  So far it seems to maintain it's quality and food has only stuck once..which was while I was making caramelized Salmon. I did add water and the food quickly released as promised by the steam. I like that the pan is oven safe up to 350 but have not tested that out as of yet.  I have cleaned the pan once using vinegar again after making the Salmon and it cleaned up perfectly.   While this pan performs exactly as other non-stick frying pans I do feel better know that it is not adding any harmful chemicals to my food during preparation.

The frying pans sell on Amazon and come in the sizes of 8, 10 and 12 inches.
Here is your chance to win your own 8" Ozeri Green Earth Frying Pan.

  3. I'd love to have one of these. I've been looking at the "green pan" as seen on tv that is offered at Wal-mart. It's a little cheaper than this so I'm guessing not quite as good quality. I'd love to win. Fingers and toes crossed. :-)
